Shandorlan

In the darkest depths of the Shattered Continent, far below the plateaus and ravines, where light has not yet set its blinding gaze, there lies the work of human hands. Stone corridors hewn out the rock, carved with engravings in a language that has yet to be born, stretch for miles under the continent. As the story goes, all water in the continent eventually drains to Shandorlan, taking with it unruly children and villains of folklore alike. It is not much of an exaggeration. The DMV and the Glass City have attempted to map the labyrinthine sprawl, perhaps believing that isolated under the layers of stone the dangers of the Shattered continent might pass them by. Survivors of such expeditions say nothing to the contrary, reporting only twisting pathways that lead into vast, waterlogged caverns and empty, dusty sepulchres of unknown purpose. Those who do not return have no rebuttal. Since the War of Wonders, however, Shandorlan has become ever more crowded with new arrivals. Free Cities seek out remaining Corp of Engineer remnants, as refugees from the destruction wrought above move ever deeper to escape the carnage. These masses are prime recruiting grounds for the Living Arsenal, who’s nihilistic message is received particularly well in the desolate tunnels of Shandorlan. The abominations unleashed by the Glass City and the DMV slowly make their downwards, taking up new homes in the darkness. This is an acceptable outcome for the DMV, as the tunnels should act as a stone prison far away from the French Corridor and strained trade routes. Though ominously, an end to the structure has never been found, and at the farthest extent of the Glass Librarians investigations, it seemed to extend even beyond the Shattered continent.
