Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Zylocore Games is an independent tabletop game studio, and we are responsible for the information described here. You can reach us any time at info@ZylocoreGames.com.

2. What we collect

Four things, and only the first is something you actively give us.

Mailing list

If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address. That is the entire list — we do not even ask for your name. We do not ask for your age, your location, or your phone number, and we do not try to work them out.

Website server logs

Like every website, ours is served by a hosting provider that keeps short-lived technical logs: IP address, browser type, which page was requested, and when. These exist so the site can be served at all, and so we can spot abuse or an outage. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not connect them to your mailing list entry.

Visitor numbers

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. We chose it because of what it does not do: it sets no cookies, it does not fingerprint your device, and it does not follow you between websites. There is no profile of you anywhere in it.

What it records is a pageview: the page, the referring page, and general details of your browser, screen size and country. None of it identifies you, and none of it is connected to your mailing list entry.

It runs on every page of this site, including the construction notice at /forge/. When the Platoon Forge itself is published that page will be excluded from it: the app is locked down harder than the rest of the site and no external script will run there at all.

Stopping the bots

The mailing list signup forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check served by Cloudflare, the same company that hosts this site. It looks at technical signals from your browser to tell a person from a script, sets no cookies, and does not follow you between websites. It runs invisibly — there is nothing to see and nothing to click — on the signup forms, including the one in the welcome message, and nowhere else on the site. Cloudflare’s handling of that check is covered by its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Nothing else

Beyond those two Cloudflare services, we run no advertising trackers, no marketing pixels and no other third-party scripts, and we set no cookies of our own. There is no "accept all" banner here because there is nothing to accept.

One thing is kept on your own device, and it is not a cookie: when the welcome message inviting you to the Discord and the mailing list has been shown, we note that in your browser’s session storage so it does not appear again while you look around. Session storage is discarded when you close the tab, so it never outlives the visit, and that is also why the message says hello again next time. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.

3. What we use it for

Your email address is used for exactly one purpose: to send you occasional updates about Zylocore Games, TREADS, playtesting, major announcements, development updates, future releases and related news.

That is the complete list, and it is the limit of what we will use it for. If we ever want to use your information for something outside it, we will ask you first and you are free to say no.

4. What we will never do

These are commitments, not preferences.

• · We will never sell your personal information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to another studio, not to anyone, not for money and not for anything else of value.
• · We will never rent, trade or share your information for anyone else’s marketing.
• · We will never use it to build advertising profiles, or hand it to anyone who does.
• · We will never sell information belonging to a minor, and we do not knowingly collect it in the first place (section 9).

If Zylocore Games were ever bought or merged, your information could pass to whoever takes it on, but bound by this same policy. We would tell you before it happened and give you the chance to leave first.

5. Who else handles it

We use a few service providers to run the site and the mailing list. They act on our instructions, they are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes, and none of them are advertising companies.

Email delivery

We use MailerLite to hold the mailing list and send the emails. Your email address sits on their systems and is processed under their own privacy and data processing terms.

Website hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles the technical logs described in section 2.

Images on the Community page

The Community page shows recent posts from our Facebook and Instagram accounts. We build those cards ourselves and run no Meta code on this site, but the photographs in them are still served from Meta’s own servers, which means your browser fetches them from Meta and Meta can see your IP address when it does. We would rather that were not true; it is the one piece of this we have not closed yet. If it bothers you, avoid the Community page or use a content blocker.

6. The Platoon Forge

The Forge is not published yet. The list builder has been withdrawn while it is finished, and zylocoregames.com/forge currently serves a plain construction notice with no application on it. This section describes how the Forge will behave when it returns, and it is written down now because the commitments in it are not going to change on the way.

It will run entirely inside your browser and send us nothing. Your platoons, your settings and your theme choice are saved on your own device in your browser’s local storage. They never reach us, we cannot read them, and clearing your browser data deletes them for good, including from our reach, because we never had them.

Once it has loaded, the Forge makes no network requests at all. That is also why it keeps working with no internet connection.

If you use Copy link to share a platoon, the whole platoon is encoded into the link itself rather than stored on our servers. Anyone you send that link to can open it, so treat it like any other link you share.

If you used an earlier version of the Forge, it may have saved a copy of itself in your browser so it could work offline. That copy is on your device, not ours. Visiting any page on this site while online clears it out automatically, along with anything else the Forge had cached. Your saved platoons and your theme choice are stored separately and are not touched by that.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your mailing list entry until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When you unsubscribe we remove your details rather than keeping a shadow copy, apart from the minimum record needed to make sure we do not accidentally email you again.

Server logs are short-lived and are discarded by our host on their own schedule.

8. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• · tell you what we hold about you;
• · give you a copy of it;
• · correct it if it is wrong;
• · delete it entirely;
• · stop emailing you.

Email info@ZylocoreGames.com and we will do it. We aim to reply within a few days, and we will not make you jump through hoops or sit through a pitch to stay. Every email we send also carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. Our legal basis for emailing you is your consent, which you gave by signing up and can withdraw at any time.

9. Children

This site and our mailing list are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the record.

10. Where your information is held

We are based in the United States and our service providers operate internationally, so your information may be stored or processed outside the country you live in. Wherever it sits, it is covered by this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. If a change actually affects what we do with your information, as opposed to fixing a typo, we will email the list and say plainly what changed before it takes effect.
